2014 Programme

Building on the success of the pilot programme during 2013, South West Crucible 2014 took place from April to July 2014.

_MG_5346Thirty applicants weree selected to participate on the programme. South West Crucible took place over three intensive two-day residential workshops (called Labs) in  addition to a 4th one-day Lab at the end of the programme.

 

 

Participants were required to attend all Labs:

02-03 April 2014
14-15 May 2014
25-26 June 2014
16 July 2014

Each Lab was a mixture of workshops, interviews, skills sessions, talks and informal discussions. All were aimed at helping researchers put their role into a wider context.

  • media engagement
  • policy making and
  • public engagement.

There was also a focus on creativity, innovation and enterprise skills as well as exploring the benefit and opportunities of interdisciplinary collaboration.

Participants were given the opportunity to mix with peers from a wide variety of disciplinary backgrounds and to network with senior representatives of policy, academia, government, media and business in our region.
